Reasons Not to Fear Switching to Satellite TV

Always wanted satellite TV but were afraid to make the switch? Many people are, and the basic reasoning behind this fear is a simple fear of the unknown. Unless you have the opportunity to use this television service first hand it can seem overwhelming. The simple point and click of cable TV makes for easy viewing, and the plethora of channels and viewing options of satellite can seem like altogether too much. Can there be such a thing as too many options when it comes to entertainment? No! Of course not! There are many fears people have about making changes, but switching away from cable shouldn’t be one of them. Here are some of the top reasons people stick with cable, and why these myths should be immediately dispelled!

No Local Channels. In the past people shied away from satellite TV because they didn’t want to lose their local channels. While many of these channels weren’t very good anyway, a few of them are absolutely necessary. Things like news and weather just can’t be replaced by a channel from elsewhere, since places like California’s news does very little for a person’s daily routine when they need to know what’s going on now in other parts of the country!

Satellite is More Expensive. Have you looked at the prices of cable packages these days? In order to get the good deals, most people have to bundle together things like phone and internet service. These may be services they already have from another source, and are tied into a plan with, or are entirely happy with the provider they have. Feeling pressured into buying more to spend less makes no sense, so why not just get the service you really want? Not to mention, if you really want to bundle together high speed internet you can do that too!

All the Good Programs and Movies Cost Extra. This is an absolute myth! With hundreds of regular channels there is always something new and exciting on. If you want, on demand programming is always around too meaning you can simply click a button and have lots of included entertainment. Of course you can always select a pay per view movie or sporting event for a little bit extra (far less than a movie ticket for just one person these days), but there’s no lack of great movies and sports to choose from without paying one extra cent.

There’s No DVR Available. For even more programming selection, why not go with a DVR which is absolutely available with satellite TV! Not only will you have all your favorite programs to watch any time of day or night, but you’ll be able to catch them in high definition. The DVR you get with that cable package certainly can’t do that.

It’s Difficult to Use. Any new technology, from a new cell phone to a new laptop takes a while to warm up to. If you’ve bought a new cell phone in the last 10 years, then you’ll be able to get the hang of satellite TV in no time!

Don’t be afraid of the great programming and sports available from Direct TV! Embrace great home entertainment and check out the direct tv local channel guide online.

We recently canceled our Satellite TV subscription since we now have Netflix Streaming through our Wii. We’ve had the Netflix Streaming service for about 4 months now and we love it!
