Evaluating Dish Network Turbo HD

June 25th, 2009 |

You may be in the same boat as many of your neighbors in today’s economy. What I’m talking about is trying to figure out a way to cut costs yet still enjoy the same entertainment that you’ve had for years. One area to look at is your utility bill, specifically your cable or satellite TV service.

One of the most affordable providers out there is Dish Network.Known for driving hard bargains with the providers of content, Dish Network management has managed to keep prices low for their subscribers.Another way that Dish Network has lowered the bar when it comes to satellite TV packages is with their Turbo HD offer.

Turbo HD is low on channel counts, but high on quality content.Generally, when you think of a typical cable or satellite package, you think of hundreds of channels. But how many of those channels do you really watch on a regular basis?Usually there is lots of filler, things like shopping channels, religious networks and the like.Is it really worth it to pay $75 or more every month for a bunch of channels that you don’t ever watch?

With people being so price conscious, this is the one area where Turbo HD shines. You will find that the regular pricing is a good $10 to $20 lower than a typical cable package. You can also add the features that you may or may not want individually, such as local channels and DVR service.

So far, Dish Network is the only company to offer these HD only packages. It remains to be seen if Direct TV or the various cable TV companies will follow the lead set by Dish TV.

Braxton Swingle covers the latest Dish TV offers like the Turbo HD package from Dish Network.
